The Strange Chores was an awesome project to work on with 12Field Animation.
The show had a theme of fun and tender moments, and we tried to compliment that with exciting fun performances, as well as subtle acting with strong expressions to really bring the characters to life. “Organic energy” was the phrase I found myself saying to the animators a lot throughout the production.
It was a lot of work and I got to work with many different animators as I directed the Animation team for all three seasons.
On season three I was given the opportunity to be episode Director for the Manga Charlie episode.
This was a great opportunity to be a part of the whole process and have input over a lot more of the episode.
One of my goals was to really try and do justice to anime and Manga and include some dynamic animation that shows off one of the reasons why anime and Manga are so cool. So I got in there and included some hand drawn anime style animation in the episode climax. This was heaps of fun!
